Antique American Gilded Wood and Gesso Mirror. The thick turned columns of the frame with applied gesso decoration, were popular in the late Empire period, 1830-1850. Probably Philadelphia. There is a similar labeled example in The Henry Francis Dupont Winterthur Museum.

Friendship Quilt, 78" X 80", circa 1930, soft peach background with 25 blocks containing 24 sets of initials and one signed Grama. The 25, 9" blocks are done in the "Chimney Sweep" design. There is extensive hand quilting in diamond, club and what appears to be water lilies designs. The quilting is hand stitched at 10" per inch. The binding is hand sewn. The batting is medium weight. The quilt is fresh and clean and has no tears or apparent repairs...
