Extremely rare small Sheraton wine table having an octagonal mahogany top banded in satinwood above a vasiform turned pedestal and supported by three downswept legs with satinwood stringing. Most tables of this form described as "wine tables" are usually candlestands. This is a true wine table, which would have been placed next to the host's chair after dessert was served and the servants withdrew so there could be private conversation. English, circa 1790...
