A fine and rare China Trade Georgian Period armchair, circa 1760. The chair in a traditional Georgian form is constructed entirely in solid rosewood. The shaped crest with acanthus carved ears over a pierced and carved splat. The shaped arms are joined to a trapezoidal seat. The front legs are cabriole in form with acanthus carved knees and terminate in strongly formed claw and ball feet. The back legs with squared feet. A Late Nineteenth Century lacquer panel mounted as a coffee table, circa 1880. The surface rectangular in shape and decorated with an outer floral vine border surrounding a main reserve painted with a scenic botanical image. The panel rests on a modern ebonized wooden base with cross stretchers. Condition: very good with some minor losses in the surface in the frieze below the top.
