A fine 18th century carved ladderback armchair, probably Dutch circa 1780. The shaped crest carved with a shell over four horizontal serpentine contoured slats. The arms join the seat frame enclosing a compass form slip seat. The cabriole legs with acanthus carved knees, joined with flat stretchers, terminating in claw and ball feet. Condition: Excellent with a fine rich patina. Dimensions: Height 39 1/2", Depth 24", Width 26 1/2".
