Theodore Fort (French, 19th C.)

Watercolor-on-paper, signed, Circa 1884

Provenance: Arthur Anderson, Esq. (According to the inscription on old mat), the Estate of Eugene Sussel.

Fort was a watercolor artist who made his debut in the Paris Salon of 1842 and was the son of Simon Fort. He is represented in the Louvre, the Mulhouse Museum and at Pontoise and is listed in Benezit, Dictionnaire des Peintres.
