Extremely fine oil painting; exquisite portrait of a beautiful young woman, in a handmade, hand-gilded frame. Some minor craquelure is noted, as well as one tiny flake under her chin. We believe this portrait has been cut from and rescued from a larger painting which was probably damaged. Painted on canvas, it appears to have been stabilized, quite sometime ago, by being mounted upon two layers of artist board, with no further restoration appearing to be required.
