"Roman Cross", a pieced quilt, this is a remarkable example of a relatively early quilt, circa 1860-1880, the fabrics are documented classics of the period and remain strong and vibrant. There is one tiny professional repair and very minor muting of the fabric along the binding. The stitching is entirely by hand at seven stitches per inch and includes diagonal, parallel line quilting, thin batting. This is a vibrant pieced and appliqued "Spider Web" quilt, circa 1930, which is an uncommon, but documented pattern.
