A mid-nineteenth century, seemless, hand loomed Jacquard Coverlet, red on a white background with a central medallion, pheasants, flowers and a saw tooth pattern along the border, very minor fringe loss, but with no holes, tears, or stains, 82" X 88", not including fringe. Coverlets of the era were woven on hand looms with Jacquard attachments by professional weavers. They were easier to acquire than entirely hand sewn quilts of unique design...

"Roman Cross", a pieced quilt, this is a remarkable example of a relatively early quilt, circa 1860-1880, the fabrics are documented classics of the period and remain strong and vibrant. There is one tiny professional repair and very minor muting of the fabric along the binding.
