A fine and rare Eighteenth Century Georgian China Trade carved rosewood armchair circa 1780. The chair has a shaped crest with a carved open work "Gothic" splat over an over-upholstered trapezoidal shaped seat. The arms with a serpentine contour are joined to the back legs and side-rails. The cabriole legs have acanthus carved knees and bold claw and ball feet. Condition: Very good with a fine patina. Dimensions: Height 38", Depth 20", width 23 1/2".
