| A rare 17th C Italian tapestry panel depicting Madonna holding a bunch of grapes in her right hand while cradling the Christ Child with her left arm. They are seated next to a draped table with a basket of grapes and other fruit. In the landscaped background to the right are mountains and to the left is an Italian town. Colors are vibrant. The silk stitches are very small and appear to be tent stitch. Framed under glass and mounted on silk brocade, the needlework measures 12.25” x 9.5”. Framed size is 17.5” x 14.75” | ||||||||
