| Cast iron owl form andirons, several foundries made similar castings of this popular motif in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. They can be differentiated by foundry marks and minor casting differences. This example marked on the back 407E was made by the Rostand Manufacturing Co. of Milford, Conn. and are displayed in their 1921 edition trade catalog on pg. 62. The eyes are clear glass with black pupils. Typically the eyes are yellow with black pupils, therefore we do not know if these are original or replaced eyes. In view of this we have priced them below our other examples of these andirons. Height 14", Width 9", Depth 17". We have many other andirons not pictured email or call to inquire.
