| This Important Map of the World, c. 1768 by Rev. John Blair and engraved by J.A. Bayly (fl 1755 -1794) is in Very Good Condition. Copper engraving, original color, from “Chronology and History of the World” published 1768. In very good condition. A tiny hole near Madagascar, and two closed tears on upper edge, not affecting map, some light offsetting. Handsome world map in two hemispheres, ‘Western, or the New World’, and ‘Eastern, or the Old World.’ The coastlines of the world are fairly well depicted, although Australia and the North west of North America had still to be accurately charted.
