Alexis Mathonat (French, b.1832)

Oil on canvas, signed.

Painting size: 23.5” x 32”
Frame size: 32.5” x 41”

Born in 1832 in Moulins, France, Mathonat painted both portraits and historical scenes. He was a student of T. Couture and exhibited at the Paris Salon in 1850 to 1868. His work can be see at the Musée de Moulins.
